The Intake Services of the Agency provide the following services:
- Accepting and screening all new referrals to Family, Youth and Child Services of Muskoka.
- Investigating allegations and/or evidence that a child or youth may be in need of protection, when the request for services involves child maltreatment or child protection matters.
- Completing initial Children’s Mental Health assessments and preparing the family and child for connection with a Children’s Mental Health therapist, when the request for services involves counselling or other Children's Mental Health matters.
- Linking children and families to appropriate services in the community
- Responding to crisis situations by providing initial support services and subsequent follow-up services.
Intake Services may provide short term support to families, youth and children who require either Child Protection or Children’s Mental Health Services.
Alternatives for Youth in Muskoka (AYM) and Integrated Services for Northern Children (ISNC) Services have their own specialized intake system and are not currently accessed through the Agency Intake Services.
